Jumpers & sweatshirts for women

(604 article)

Chic or sporty, cool or casual: women’s jumpers are so versatile and can go with lots of different looks. Cosy knitted jumpers aren’t just cosy and warm on cool days, they are also very versatile when it comes to creating an outfit. Fine knit jumpers or sweatshirts, on the other hand, are perfect for milder days.

Women’s jumpers for every occasion

Jumpers are absolute favourites because they combine both comfort and style. You'd be hard-pressed to find anything more comfortable than a cosy knit jumper in winter. And because they are so easy to mix and match, jumpers are true wardrobe essentials that can be given a new twist every time you wear them.

  • Fine knit jumpers made of supple materials such as cashmere or merino wool are particularly elegant. That's why they're perfect for business wear or at a special occasion.
  • Chunky knit jumpers or jumpers with rustic knit patterns are a casual choice for cold days and go just as great with jeans as they do with pleated skirts.
  • Jumpers with slogans or motifs bring some variety into your wardrobe and give your casual outfits a cheeky or humorous touch.
  • Hooded jumpers or sweatshirts are great for bringing an element of sporty casualness into any look.

Buy the right jumper for you

Do you like it sporty, classic or trendy? Depending on the season and occasion, you can choose between thin, lightweight sweatshirts or thick, warm jumpers made of soft knit fabric.

  • For the weekend or sports, you can try sweatshirts and hoodies made of cotton or blended cotton fabrics. They offer maximum freedom of movement and create a simple, everyday look when paired with jeans and trainers, for example.
  • Fine knit jumpers are a good choice for the office or a formal event. The finer the yarn and the knit, the more elegant the jumper and the smoother it is on the skin.
  • Chunky knit jumpers are a nice contrast to delicate materials such as chiffon, silk or satin, but also go great with casual looks with jeans or chinos. A cool mini skirt made of leather gives rustic outfits with wool jumpers a modern twist.
  • Jumpers for women with interwoven lurex threads have a very elegant look thanks to the slightly shimmering material.
  • Trendy long jumpers almost look like a dress and are very fashionable right now. Colourful stockings or patterned leggings are a sophisticated addition to plain-coloured long jumpers.
  • Oversized jumpers are intentionally very large and wide and look best paired with slim-fitting trousers or skirts. When wearing jumpers with lots of volume, you can accentuate your waist by casually tucking the jumper into the waistband of your trousers or your skirt. This maintains your proportions and flatters the figure despite the volume and width of the jumper.

The brighter and more distinctive a jumper is, the more it remains the focal point of an outfit. Pair it with plain-coloured trousers or skirts to ensure the jumper gets all the attention. Courageous fashionistas mix different materials, colours and patterns for even more individual looks: why not wear a traditional Norwegian-style jumper with a sheath skirt or an oversized hoodie with a feminine maxi dress with a large floral pattern? Be brave and see what combinations you come up with!

Proper jumper care: our expert tips for jumpers

To ensure that you enjoy your new jumper as long as possible, it's important to take good care of it. Unlike simple sweatshirts or T-shirts made of cotton, fine knit jumpers require a bit more attention to detail when cleaning. Follow our tips to ensure that your knitted jumpers look as good as the day you bought them.

  • Knitted jumpers made of angora, cashmere or merino wool or other wool fabrics are machine washable. However, this should be done as little as possible so that the fibres aren’t worn out unnecessarily.
  • Before washing, turn the jumper inside out and, if possible, put it in a fine-meshed washing bag. This reduces friction and prevents threads from getting caught on appliqués, zips or buttons from other pieces of clothing.
  • Wash sensitive women’s jumpers using a cold, gentle or wool cycle. Use a detergent suitable for wool or delicates and select the shortest wash cycle at a low temperature. The spin speed should also be kept as low as possible so that the threads don't become loose.
  • When washing jumpers, ideally only fill the washing machine to half capacity. This also reduces friction in the drum to prevent sensitive fibres from wearing out.
  • If you wash a jumper by hand, don’t soak it for too long and use only lukewarm water as well as detergent for wool or delicates (ideally in liquid form).
  • Avoid unnecessary rubbing while washing and only press the fabric together gently.
  • After you've finished hand washing, remember to rinse the jumper with clean water in order to remove detergent residue.
  • Wringing out the fabric with excessive force will damage the wet fibres. Instead, wrap the wet jumper in a large towel and carefully squeeze out the water.
  • Dry cleaning is only a good option for sensitive wool jumpers if absolutely necessary. It is often enough to simply air them out over night or ”steam” them in the shower. This refreshes the fibres and removes any bad odours. You can also use a special spray that has this same effect.
